911: The Lesson for All Patriots

I like reading Peter Hitchens column in the Mail on Sunday. He isn't always right, but he's about as close as it gets in the mainstream media. He loathes the Marxist and PC left, but he is equally as angry about the hand-wringing or Big Business right.

In today's column he all but says Osama Bin Laden wasn't behind the Twin Towers. There is only one way we can follow that. That Osama was a patsy - a willing put-up baddie by the CIA/Mossad etc. Or he was willing to take on that mantle to build his org into the No. 1 Muslim terror group (a useful idiot).

Either way he did what the Neo Cons, the NWO, the Zionists wanted.

Remember who the only people in New York celebrating were: the group of Israeli special forces with their rental van, later stopped and arrested after sniffer dogs detecting explosives - and later released quietly by George Dubya.

It all stinks to high heaven.

What else could the Zionists want but a perfect bogeyman to yell "it was us?"

Hitchens gets it wrong when he blames the Palestinians for cheering. After all, the Americans had blocked umpteen UN Resolutions against Israel which resulting in many tens of thousands of Palestinians dying - not to mention those tortured, maimed etc.

The Americans think their 3000 odd victims of 911 is a watershed. Not for the Palestinians it wasn't. They had lost that many people many times over to State sponsored terror, only for the American government to block any UN Resolutions. They also are not blind to the fact that much of the weaponry was bought with US tax-payers funds, poured into Israel.

Reverse those facts and don't you think the Americans would cheer a strike on Palestine? They sure cheered when the CIA bogeyman was (allegedly!) taken-out...

Our problem in the West is thinking that "our" victims of terror (even if we accept the terror is Islamic and not Zionist) are worth more to us, than the dead Arabs slaughtered by Zionist terror mean to the Arabs.

If our people were murdered, tortured, expelled, imprisoned in concentration camps, denied water etc. as much as the Palestinians do you not think we would rise up against our oppressors?

When we hear of Churchill's "stay behind" Resistance Fighters in secret hide-outs, armed to take out German invaders; even after a surrender -making such Resistance illegal under the Geneva Convention: would most people consider such people terrorists? Or freedom fighters?

So how do you think most Arabs look on those who struggle against a Zionist machine that has murdered hundreds of thousands, with the financial, material and political backing of America, the last Super-power?

Hitchens thinks 911 can be traced back to Palestine in that the Muslim perpetrators urged the end of injustice to the Palestinians. I think it can indeed be traced back to Palestine -- because prior to 911 Bush had said he wanted to be less involved in foreign wars (can you imagine?) and the Middle East. He was all but saying he was going to cut Israel loose.

Join the dots folks:

• Bush wants to 'pull out' of the Mid East.
• 911 Happens.
• Zionist Special Forces in NY witnessed celebrating.
• Osama (CIA) Says "It was us Muslims"
• Neo Cons step up pressure.
• Zionist Wars ensue.
• Various anti-Israeli opponents are taken out.
• "War on Terror" follows Zionist agenda.

So in short, America went from being a State that would no longer prop up Israel to the extent it had, would try to sort out its internal policies, problems etc. and not act as the world's policeman, to being at the head of Zionist policy in the Middle East and the Arab world.

By any stretch of the imagination the Twin Towers outrage benefits Israel, Israeli policy, the Zionist Lobby in the USA and the Neo Cons agenda overseas.

With the facts coming out about 911, the facts coming out about Osama, and the way world policy shifted afterwards, it is an idiot who says "911 was the Muslims."

Think about it. After 911 even the BNP grew in popularity (and media exposure!) after becoming the Anti-Muslim party. Now their usefulness is past, they are being disrupted (who is to blame you can work out for yourself). Some people made money, played the "it's all the Muslims" card and now nationalism has been wrecked (again).

Every part of the 'War on Terror' campaign was planned down to the minutest detail. It may not have all gone to plan, but it wasn't for lack of trying.

People like Hitchens are off kilter, primarily because they are too afraid to add 2 + 2. It would upset too many people. He would lose his job. He would be labeled an anti-Semite (the killer blow).

That is how the media works. And who runs the media? A handful of oligarchs who follow the Zionist line.

Collateral Murder - Coming Soon to Libya

Panorama, Newsnight and the entire BBC machinery has been acting as the mouth of the Libyan rebels. Every (uncensored) report from Tripoli almost invariably has the words "cannot be independently verified" tagged on, whereas reports from rebel areas (even tenuous, speculative ones, have no such tag line).

On last night's Newsnight a spokesman for the Libyan rebels all but called for US/NATO military action, on their side of course, and if civilians died - so be it, if it helped them win their civil war, their armed insurrection.

Thus we see the "humanitarian" cloak used (as Farrakhan said) to disguise their nefarious aims, is quickly tossed aside when it comes to killing civilians loyal to the Libyan government or in their areas!

Of course the elephant in the room is that armed rebels in civilian clothing are "civilians" too - even though they are in armed insurrection, no doubt helped by the CIA/Mossad.

So, as very few British MPs and media voices have the courage to state, we are joining a Civil War on one side. The crimes of that side will be airbrushed and the crimes of the other side (if you'll pardon the pun) will be blown out of all proportion.

'Mission Creep' is already taking place. There's talk of arresting Gaddafi, "taking out" Gaddafi, assaulting towns held by the Libyan government and their supporters (with how many civilian victims?) to help the rebels...

Killing innocents comes easy to the Zionists, and always will to achieve their ends. They are just numbers.

Human lives, civilian deaths, collateral damage -- however you want to label murder of innocents -- only matter when the Zionists want in somewhere. Then civilians murders are a crime against humanity. Oh the tears flow!

Yet when hundreds of thousands die in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Gaza - not to mention the million or so dead in Rwanda - it matters not a jot to the Zionists. Indeed, in some (most!) cases they are the ones doing the indiscriminate murder.

When Israel invaded Lebanon (a sovereign nation) many innocents died and UN checkpoints were attacked. There was no UN Resolution, no no-fly zone, no talk of war crimes.

When Gaza had democracy and voted in Hamas (as was their right), Israel enacted an illegal blockade. Where then was the humanitarian concern of the Americans?

Where is America's love of freedom, that they wanted this video hushed up?

What happened in Iraq could well happen in Libya if the various War Hawks, Neo Cons and Zionists have their way (including the British government's Defence Secretary). It's what the 'rebels' (who are leading the BBC by the nose, so must be part of a MI6 agenda) want, in order to get their way, and change the government of Libya by hook or by crook.

The talk of humanitarian aims, helping civilians etc. is all hogwash.

Watch the video from Iraq. A man walking down the street with a weapon (lets call him a "rebel") walks into a building. The American gunship then gets the all-clear from their own Command to attack the building, to blow it up (with everyone inside it).

If the rebel were a Libyan rebel and the helicopter were a Libyan government one, this would be shown on Newsnight as proof of war crimes, and as an excuse to get NATO troops on the ground to protect civilians (even the ones carrying weapons).

Why therefore, is it not a criminal act when the Americans do it? Because they are following Zionist war aims? Because they can veto the UN Security Council?

Is this any way to get neutral unbiased justice in the world? Or a neutral unbiased military response backed by the UN?

If NATO/US forces get even more embroiled in Libya, we will see more of this kind of action, more civilian deaths, the Civil War will escalate.

All to a back-drop of billions spent on weaponry at a time when all the Western states are close to bust and poverty in America, for example, is rampant! Kerching.

Yet because that seems to be a Zionist goal, we are all meant to sit back and clap politely when a Libyan rebel leader calls for more "collateral damage" to achieve his aims. Doesn't it kind of remind you of the Iraqi rebel nutters who were calling for war and promising they'd find the sites of the WMDs? Beware war propaganda using useful idiots.

Yahoo Sells E-Mail Content to Spooks

open with the proof of U.S. email companies spying on their users.

Yahoo Sells All Its Users Private Email Contents to U.S. Agencies for Small Price

Yahoo isn't happy that a detailed menu of the spying services it provides to "law enforcement" and spy agencies has leaked onto the web.

After earlier reports this week that Yahoo had blocked an FOIA Freedom of Information release of its "law enforcement and intelligence price list", someone helpfully provided a copy of the Yahoo company's spying guide to the whistleblower web site Cryptome.org.

The 17-page guide, which Yahoo has tried to suppress via legal letters to the Cryptome.org site run by freedom of information champion John Young, describes Yahoo's policies on keeping the data of Yahoo Email and Yahoo Groups users, as well as the surveillance and spying capabilities it can give to the U.S. government and its agencies.

The Yahoo document is a price list for these spying services and has already resulted in many people closing down their accounts in protest. However, closing a Yahoo account is not as easy as one might expect: users have reported great difficulty in finding the link to delete their account, and, Yahoo will still keep data for another 90 days.

If you ask Yahoo! to delete your Yahoo! account, in most cases your account will be deactivated and then deleted from our user registration database in approximately 90 days. This delay is necessary to discourage users from engaging in fraudulent activity.
Please note that any information that we have copied may remain in back-up storage for some period of time after your deletion request. This may be the case even though no information about your account remains in our active user databases.

Many government leaders and officials around Africa, Asia and Latin America are known by Mathaba to widely be using Yahoo, Gmail, and Hotmail in spite of these Email services being hosted on U.S. computers and the ease that gives the hosts to access their data.. Mathaba has also long been aware of a great many business people, politicians and even Presidents who use the "free" web-based email services of Yahoo for their Email communications, thus making it easy for the U.S. and its owners to spy on them with negligible cost.

Cryptome also published lawful data-interception guides for Cox Communications, SBC, Cingular, Nextel, GTE and other telecoms and Internet service providers.

But of all those companies, it appears to be Yahoo's lawyers alone who have been stupid enough to try to issue a "DMCA takedown notice" to Cryptome demanding the document be removed. Yahoo claims that publication of the document is a copyright violation, and gave Cryptome owner John Young a Thursday deadline for removing the document.

We estimate Yahoo stand a near-zero chance of success given that Young has thousands of intelligence and other leaked documents on his site and in the past decade has yet to remove a single document upon legal threats, the same 10-year track record held by Mathaba on documents on British Intelligence in spite of having computers seized and properties raided.

Mathaba is now also hosting the Yahoo leaked document on its servers around the world, and the cat is long out of the bag with the original document having been downloaded and distributed by many already.

When John Young was asked if there was anything he wouldn't reveal on his site -- a fault in the President's Secret Service detail, for instance -- he said, "Well, I'm actually looking for that information right now", much to the chagrin of those who believe that the U.S. government and its hopelessly corrupt agencies should have a right to supress information from the public.

The Compliance Guide reveals, as has been known to Mathaba prior to the leak via our own sources, that Yahoo does not retain a copy of e-mails that an account holder sends unless that customer sets up the account to store those e-mails. Yahoo also cannot search for or produce deleted e-mails once they've been removed from a user's trash folder.

The guide also reveals that the company retains the IP addresses from which a user logs in for just one year. But the company's logs of IP addresses used to register new accounts for the first time go back to 1999. The contents of accounts on Flickr, the photo sharing and storage site which Yahoo also owns, are purged as soon as a user deactivates the account.

Chats conducted through the company's Web Messenger service may be saved on Yahoo's server if one of the parties in the correspondence set up their account to archive chats. This pertains to the web-based version of the chat service, however. Yahoo does not save the content of chats for consumers who use the downloadable Web Messenger client on their computer.

Instant message logs are retained 45 to 60 days and includes an account holder's friends list, and the date and times the user communicated with them.

Young responded to Yahoo's takedown request with a defiant note:

I cannot find at the Copyright Office a grant of copyright for the Yahoo spying document hosted on Cryptome. To assure readers Yahoo's copyright claim is valid and not another hoary bluff without substantiation so common under DMCA bombast please send a copy of the copyright grant for publication on Cryptome.

Until Yahoo provides proof of copyright, the document will remain available to the public for it provides information that is in the public interest about Yahoo's contradictory privacy policy and should remain a topic of public debate on ISP unacknowledged spying complicity with officials for lucrative fees.

Note: Yahoo's exclamation point is surely trademarked so omitted here.
The company responded that a copyright notice is optional for works created after March 1, 1989 and repeated its demand for removal on Thursday. For now, the document remains on the Cryptome site.

Threat Level reported Tuesday that muckraker and Indiana University graduate student Christopher Soghoian had asked all agencies within the Department of Justice, under a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, to provide him with a copy of the pricing list supplied by telecoms and internet service providers for the surveillance services they offer government agencies. But before the agencies could provide the data, Verizon and Yahoo intervened and filed an objection on grounds that the information was proprietary and that the companies would be ridiculed and publicly shamed were their surveillance price sheets made public.

Yahoo wrote in its objection letter that if its pricing information were disclosed to Soghoian, he would use it "to 'shame' Yahoo! and other companies — and to 'shock' their customers."

"Therefore, release of Yahoo!'s information is reasonably likely to lead to impairment of its reputation for protection of user privacy and security, which is a competitive disadvantage for technology companies," the company added.

The price list that Yahoo tried to prevent the government from releasing to Soghoian appears in one small paragraph in the 17-page leaked document. According to this list, Yahoo charges the government about $30 to $40 for the contents, including e-mail, of a subscriber's account. It charges $40 to $80 for the contents of a Yahoo group.

Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and other U.S. "social networking" sites are at minimum providing information in similar fashion to U.S. agencies, and in some cases have also received substantial funding by U.S. government related entities as a most efficient and cost-effective means of spying on their users around the world.

I'm no Lunartic but...

I never used to pay much heed to the "moon landings" not being any kind of astronomer/astrologer or whatever those types call themselves.

Right: And first right over the next hill is the interstate to Las Vegas!

Steve Brady's articles in Nationalism Today about the wonders of space exploration bored me rigid.

I watched one of the "debunking" conspiracy series on those who believed the moon landings to be fake with an open mind, and to be honest it neither convinced nor repulsed me viz the idea of it all being staged in the Arizona [?] desert.

However, the more the media have rattled on about the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11 the more I find myself questioning the events of 40 years ago.

Not because of flickering flags, funny shadows, light/dark etc.

My point is this. There was a "space race" between the USA and USSR. This was a facet of the Cold War, in which all manner of black ops, psychological warfare and much else was carried out by both sides.

1969 was during the Vietnam War and in the shadow of the Cuban Missile Crisis. if you believe that the Feds lied and covered up, it was also just a few years after they had killed their own President to ensure that the Cold War - and actual wars! - continued.

So here's my point.

We have a Cold War at its height. The Soviets are in space. What a phenomenal way to "prove" that 'western democracy' is best by putting a man on the moon!

And here's the icing on the cake which I've been boring the sprogs with and anyone who walked within shouting distance this last week:

If they put men on the moon in 1969, why haven't they been back? To claim more of it for America (and "democracy").

If they could put men on the moon in 1969 using computers with less power than a modern mobile phone, why not go back and set-up bases... surely easier than building a "space station" because it would be fixed and static and less risk of losing men when they have to repair it.

It would also enable the Space-dudes to wander about, or zoom about on their wee buggies, taking readings on the moon.

What about a space telescope based on the moon eh?

That is why I believe the 1969 landings were faked. They were carried out to gain 'one up' on the Soviets - and whilst all kinds of satellites, manned flights and even probes have been sent to Mars etc. etc. man has not "gone back" to the moon.

It makes no sense.

CIA Broke Geneva Convention

Obama has opened a can of worms re. waterboarding and the other tortures used by the CIA under Bush's tenure.

In breaking the Geneva Convention the USA's whole 'war on terror' [even discounting the CIA-nature of Al Qaeda, ref Osama Bin Mossad by Prof Sanfratello] is totally undermined.

Democracy means accepting the government that the lodges choose for you, wherever you live.

Christmas Assault is Homosexual/Abortion Conspiracy

This is a fascinating piece.

Who bankrolls Planned Parenthood whose candidate now sits in the White House - the media's secular saint, Bull###t Obama?

Can we safely assume that Planned Parenthood is one of the offshoots of the Rothschilds and the New World Order (like the ADL, CFR etc.)

Nationalists must be far more aware of this! Michael Matt's Christmas editorial in The Remnant, "From Bethlehem to Calvary," notes that a burgeoning Christophobia has launched a concerted attack on the birthday of Jesus. Mr. Matt asks just what are these grinches afraid of?

I believe one clue is to be found in the disturbing memo recently made available on the web by Randy Engel at her U.S. Coalition for Life site, www.uscl.info. In this heinous 1969 memo from Planned Parenthood to the Population Council, numerous strategies for controlling world population growth are outlined. The current implementation of many of these proposed policies from forty years ago illustrates the power and influence of the Population Control machine. For example, one of their nefarious schemes is to "encourage increased homosexuality." Yes, your children are being exposed to this life style not because anyone really cares about some nebulous self-fulfillment or self-expression, but because rampant homosexuality will contribute to population reduction!

Abortion, contraception, denigration of marriage, propagandizing women to abandon their homes and enter the workforce, control of education, etc., it's all there in this 1969 blueprint, including compulsory sterilization and child-bearing limits.

The celebration of the birthday of Jesus is the worst nightmare of the Population Control lobby. During this season, the birth of a male child is literally glorified throughout the land. This event is presented as a time of great joy and happiness, with hymns commemorating it. The grotto becomes an archetype of the domestic hearth, with a husband and wife presenting their lovely new-born baby to warmly-welcomed visitors and strangers. And to make matters worse for the Population Control Grinches, the spouses are of opposite sexes!

December 25th flies in the face of the entire secular New World Order agenda, with its anti-family, anti-traditional-marriage, anti-childbirth, and anti-God satanic program. As we know, they even hate the very word "Christmas," attempting to eliminate mention of it in the public square. But the more they attack this Holy Day, the more we should promote it, since it is a Divine wedge uprooting their evil machinations. It teaches us that the birth of a child is something joyful and wonderful, not a "punishment" as President Obama has contended *. And that is why they are afraid of Christmas.

Remembering a Spanish Victim of CIA Terror: Admiral Luis Carrero Blanco

REMEMBERING A HERO OF SPAIN & EUROPE

On the 20th December 1973 the CIA murdered Prime Minister of Spain, Admiral Luis Carrero Blanco.

This was shortly after Blanco had made it clear to the Mason-in-Chief Henry Kissinger that Spain would remain neutral in the matter of the Communist Bloc and American power, especially if Spain became a nuclear power.

The idea that ETA could dig a huge tunnel in Central Madrid, in Franco's rule, and make an explosion of such huge proportions is laughable.

"Anti-Fascists" always witter on about the CIA and Operation Gladio in the post war years. What they tend to forget is how the CIA and other Masons often used their ideological bedfellows and terrorists in ("left wing") ETA, the Red Brigades and similar to bump off anyone (in the religious, political, or business spheres) who stood in the way of CIA/Masonic aims.

And so, 35 years on we should remember Admiral Luis Carrero Blanco, Falangist, Spanish Prime Minister and possible future leader of Spain.

Another victim of "State Sponsored Terrorism" at which the Masonic power that rules America was so expert, long before they had invent "Al Qaeda" or stage "911."

Neo Cons' Fellow Travellers Moan About FC

Here we go again.

It seems some Zionists and their fellow travellers on Stormfront are moaning about this blog again.

Right: Paul Wolfowitz, one of a breed of arrogant Neo Cons, Banksters and hucksters that have taken our world to the brink of world war and financial collapse. Yet some still fear to mention the Judeo-Masonic nature of civilisation's enemy. They would rather latch onto Sun Editorials and clown-like figures like Abu "Captain Hook" Hamza who are comedy caricatures created by a Zionist media whilst the real criminals make billions and start wars.

Our "crime?"

To support the Palestinian people!

Shock horror! yes our line is that of Nationalism for decades. Our policy is anti-Zionist.

We do not think Israel has the right to exist: it is founded on a falsehood, it was founded by terror and it exists through terrorism, extortion and blackmail.

A sure sign of a Zionist or an Israel-Firster is that whenever you say you support Palestine you become a "muzzie lover."

The difference between us and them of course is whilst we say we don't support Islam (or Hinduism, or Sikhs... etc.) we also say that Judaism is evil, and that the whole worldview of organised Zionism (read Kabbalistic, Masonic etc. etc.) is one of dripping hatred for all things Christian.

We also do not shy away from saying that the main threat historically, currently and in the future comes from Zionists.

Even "Al Qaeda" and "911" have all the hallmarks of the CIA and Mossad.

So to the Zionists we say "blow wind and crack your cheeks" - for the more you wail and bring out the Muslim bogeyman the more you embarrass yourselves and show your Neo Con agenda.

• If you are out to defend indigenous peoples from immigrants - where is your support for the Palestinians?
• If you are out to defend Christianity from those who preach death and hatred to Christians - where are your condemnations of Judaism and the Talmud?
• If you are out to defend British independence/sovereignty - where are your essays detailing exactly who has taken us into needless wars, who started the credit crunch, who the financiers are that create debt and runaway taxation?

Whatever we (you and I, dear reader) think of Islam (personally I look on it as a form of heresy probably created by rabbis to form a secure buffer to Christian expansion eastwards) it is not adherents to that faith, philosophy or worldview that are dragging the world to its knees.

It is the Zionists, Neo Cons, Freemasons -- all following the anti-Christian Talmudist creed -- that run our world.

Who finances the Republicans and Democrats in America? Who will control the next US President -- the "Leader of the free world" -- just as they've had so many others in their pocket?

The Palestinians deserve our support because they are at the sharp end of the conflict. We, Nationalist Christians, have an especial affinity with the Christian communities there (whom we have supported through trade) and who don't want to run the world or invade other countries: they just want their nation back!

Meanwhile those here in the UK who say they defend Christianity (using cheap Neo Con material) would do well to remember that all the Christians in Palestine are Arab and that the Jewish state has made Christian proselytising illegal.

Israel is not our friend. Its illegal nukes are pointed at London, Paris, Berlin etc. It has spied and stolen from America! It has attacked many sovereign nations - including America!

Some say we should only be concerned for Britain. Yet do we not have the right to support a struggle that fits every just concern of nationalists? Especially one which has so many repercussions around the world?

Returning Palestine to the Palestinian people (and remember many Jews lived there in peace before the 40s, just as Jews live in peace in Iran, Egypt and other Arab countries today) will help Asians of every hue realise that they can have justice.

And as we seek to resettle Asians and Africans (not just Muslims!) - in a humane way, with inducements, grants, educational and other endowment packages etc. - what better way to show that we have the best interests of every people (as we put the interests of our own peoples first in these isles!) than to settle the Palestinian question in favour of the aggrieved party?

The Iraqi people never posed any threat to us before or after "911" just as the people of Iran never posed any threat before or after whatever event/outrage the Neo Cons stage to justify their strike against Iran.

If there are a people who threaten us it is the spooks and their masters who order and carry out the attacks ordered by their Zionist bosses, whether it's directly or indirectly carrying out the 911 murders, or whether it's the kidnap and assassination of an Iraqi Christian leader.

If we want peace we have to throw of the shackles of Zionism and that means:

# Repatriating Non-Europeans, whith aid packages to help resettlement.

Wars on Drugs & Terror

Some may think that events in Afghanistan are (figuratively) a million miles away and - aside from dead servicemen - have no real impact on our lives.

As I was bitterly reminded recently, they are wrong.

I'm not talking about the so-called "war on terror" - a CIA/Mossad joint venture to achieve certain Zionist ends.

I'm not talking about the fact the the British Ambassador in Kabul says our troops will be there for 30 years.

I'm not even talking about the stirring up of anti-West elements who may seek to attack America/Israel and their allies because of the Neo-Con wars.

No, I'm talking about the here and now, of the lives of people in our communities, in our families and of the impact on the rest of us through an endemic crime wave.

I refer of course to the heroin flooding into Europe and North America from Afghanistan.

Remember the days of the "evil" Taliban? The days when Neo-Cons dictated that the Taliban were no longer trusted (talks to build oil pipelines had fallen through)?

We were told that heroin production in Afghanisan was at unacceptable levels. Of course, since Afghanistan became a democracy (the new god of our age) and our forces of "law n order" moved in, with their Afghan puppets in control in Kabul, heroin production has - increased!

Perhaps we misunderstood when the Neo-Cons said heroin production and exportation was at "unacceptable" levels? Were they being frank in hinting that they wanted to see more exported - provided that they had even more of a role in controlling the trade and the profits?

But, to be serious, they certainly intimated that if they took over Afghanistan, and ousted the Taliban, then they would curb this horrific trade.

But surprise surprise, even on this one issue, the "war on terror" has failed. Was it always destined thus in some arcane-style CIA-plot to maximise profits? Or is this just more ineptitude of huge proportions? Or some kind of bizarre mixture?

Regardless. facts is facts.

Our much beloved (I'm being ironic - for any literate Fox News viewers stumbling in here) leaders have lied to us again. As heroin floods out of Afghanistan, it is our communities that are affected.

But why should I worry about this now, when Afghanistan is relegated to the second layer of news, despite ongoing attacks and servicemen deaths?

I had a phone call from an old friend and he asked if I remembered someone from our school days. The name rang a bell and after ransacking my much (and justly!) maligned and rapidly fading memory I did recall the lad. Although not a close friend - he was known to me and my friends and was generally liked.

He died this year from a heroin overdose.

Not having known him since school days I had no idea if he was a long-term druggy. Perhaps he led a life of crime to fund his habit? Perhaps he had been experimenting after smoking pot for years? Perhaps he had been rejected by a love or sacked from one or jobs?

All I know is that a one-time young kid who was no angel, but certainly not that bad, has died.

This is the third person I've known who has died as a result of hard drugs.

One other, a very close friend in the early 90s, disappeared to join the army after a mutual close friend died of natural causes. Then years later I learnt that he too died of a heroin overdose. I had no idea what we turn him, a really likeable fellow with lots to offer the world, into another sad statistic.

The other was a family friend who was killed by a hard-drug addict. Not long married, he had his whole future ripped away from him.

Now you may or may not be interested in those three sad stories. You may think that two of them deserved their fate, or you may have compassion for them. Obviously I don't know and that's not what I'm trying to address.

The issue here is that despite the pre-war propaganda from the Neo-Cons, their ineptitude, guile, stupidity or greed has resulted in more people in our communities becoming victims of drugs and/or drug-induced criminals.

You may not care about Afghanistan - but you should. It could be your house burgled by a druggy desperate for his next fix, or your friend killed by an addict, or turned into an addict.

I also wonder how many other people know of people killed or murdered as a result of heroin? If I personally know three, there must be a lot more out there...

The failure of their "war on drugs" can be equated and directly related to the failure of their "war on terror."

Whether by omission or commission - perhaps only they and their secretive spooks know - but the fact remains that our people are suffering these failures, day in day out.

Blair has certainly not been "tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime."

We shouldn't be surprised. But we should be outraged!
